Mt. Bierstadt – 14,060’ & Mt. Evans – 14,264’

I met up with Ben Grady and a couple of his friends at the trailhead to Mt. Bierstadt about 6:30am on a perfect summer morning. We all were planning on summiting Bierstadt, with the option of traversing the Sawtooth ridge and continuing on to Mt. Evans. I am not a purist when it comes to summiting Colorado’s 54 14er’s. If I can hit more than one peak in a single hike, I am game for it. What I nor Ben realized is just how taxing this adventure would be. This would be the first 14er for me with real exposure and some technical climbing I had not attempted before.
