The unusually warm October weather prompted me to plan a final 14er hike for the season. I was able to talk my sister Marian into going with us, unfortunately for her. The original plan was to do a double and summit Mt. Tabagauche and Mt. Shavano in the same hike as they share a saddle ridge. My research of this particular trail did indicate what an actual pain in the a$$ it really is. My buddy Brian Nelson went along, thankfully, as he is ever supportive in spite of adversity.
